Get to Know Our Speakers

First Weekend Speaker

Ron Halvorsen Jr. is a veteran Seventh-day Adventist pastor and leader who currently serves as the president of Ohio Conference. He shares something in common with our week night speaker: Halvorsen was previously the pastor of College View, Neb., church on the campus of Union College. Alomia is the current pastor of this congregation.

God called Halvorsen to minister as an adjunct theology professor, radio/television ministry personality, and published magazine author. He also pastored at Sligo Adventist Church in Maryland, and Keene Adventist Church in Texas. Longtime Adventists in western Washington will remember when Halvorsen pastored in Tacoma, Washington.

Halvorsen and his wife Beth "Buffy" Vercio Halvorsen (a licensed marriage and family therapist) have two adult children and one grandchild. He is the son of evangelist Ron Halvorsen Sr., who presented Snapshots of the Savior in 2007 in Auburn, Washington, and author of From Gangs to God.
