After many weeks of prayers, waiting, more prayers, and more waiting, Pastor Alvaro Correra has finally been granted a work permit and has taken up pastoral duties in the Shelton/Elma district of the Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
A native of Brazil, Pastor Alvaro is fluent in four languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German. His wife, Rachel, is also fluent in four languages: English, Spanish, Norwegian, and German. Her father, Sven, currently pastors the Lacey district.
Pastor Alvaro received his Bachelor’s degree in Brazil and is currently working on a Master’s degree he began in Germany. Alvaro and his parents have also spent some time living in the Philippines.
The Shelton and Elma churches are overjoyed to have a new pastoral couple, who are going to be residing about halfway between the two churches. After many months of prayers and waiting, we are excited to see what God has in store for His church!
